STUDENT CLASSIC FILM STUDY PROGRAM
2022 Series Launch! – Preview Question + Answer Event
Coronado High School and Middle School students will be invited to become charter members of the inaugural launch of the Coronado Island Film Festival’s Student Classic Film Program.
Classic Film Program Director, Jon Mosier, will host a preview event for public, parochial, charter, home school educators and youth leaders on January 6th. Attendees will screen a 25-minute documentary, The Art of Classic Film, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A to discuss the origins and purpose of the Student Classic Film Program.
While intended for those working directly with young people, this preview event is open to everyone with an interest in the program.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Program will begin with a screening of Casablanca on February 6th 2022. From February through May, students will screen eight film Classics made by the most widely acknowledged masters of the cinematic art during the Golden Age of Hollywood, as they were meant to be seen, on the big screen at Coronado’s Village Theater. Program participants will examine the construction of dramatic narrative stories and discuss the purposes of those who created treasured American movies that remain powerful and relevant to this day.
