Service on the Free Summer Shuttle begins the Friday before the Memorial Day weekend with a kickoff event to introduce a colorful new bus wrap. The new wrap is based on a public art mural that was recently removed from the old Cora Mart building when Vons began its expansion into the space. The kickoff event will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 27, at Spreckels Park. After the ceremony, the community is invited to take a ride. Light refreshments will be served. The City worked with Discover Coronado, which funds the wraps every year, on the design. Shuttles will run through Sept. 5 from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and one hour later Friday and Saturday. There will be free MTS day passes available for Coronado Cays residents and special service on the Fourth of July.
